What is a CRM?

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management system. The applications to store contacts on your desktop computer (like Apple AddressBook or Microsoft Outlook) are just address books to keep names, numbers and addresses.

CRM's on the other hand, are more sophisticated applications designed to track all communications between you, your employees, and your customers. With a CRM, you can record all phone calls, sales appointments, emails, social media interactions, and even documents to create a comprehensive history of your contacts. This makes it much easier for you to remember the details about the people with which you communicate. More importantly, this creates a history that your entire company can use to build better relationships with your prospects and customers.

Alternative Marketing Connections offers two, distinct flavors of CRM:  vTiger, a hosted, platform-independent solution for mixed computing environments; and Marketcircle Daylite, a Mac-only solution for small buisinesses with up to 10 Macs.
